About Us

The idea for Blue & White Spotlight was sparked directly after the Lancers’ Men’s Basketball team secured their second Big South Championship title in 2024. Sitting in High Point University’s Qubein Center, the realization that Longwood simply had almost no media coverage was obvious.

It is our belief that the real LU in Farmville, Virginia is quickly becoming a top tier Mid-Major program, and the athletes and fans deserve the coverage to match. Our goal is to mirror the growth of Longwood’s athletics with a growing sports media presence. We truly believe that as the athletics department continues to build teams that are highly competitive at the Division 1 level, and the fanbase continues to rapidly grow, that more media coverage is a simple necessity.

Our plan is to work collaboratively with both the local media, and the student body to provide content on ALL of Longwood’s athletic programs, while assisting in creating new and exciting interests in all teams.
